Episode #21 - I Leave Here

Picture
Tee, host of Cin4LeZ

Hello people, welcome to another act from the world of queer cinema.

No interview this week, but this unforeseen circumstance has allowed me to take a good look at the film in question.

In learning about the details of the project, what it was about and the real story behind it, I have also discovered the production company, MRfeatures, which is owned by the triple talented Marie Roux.

The company's first feature will be responsible for bringing the very important topic into the forefront and in focus for us all to see, immigration.

I Leave Here should all inspire us to all search ourselves and recognize what our next great battle to be won really is. The fight against immigration laws that keep loved loves and families apart and definitely what the next mantra should be.

So I invite you all to check out what this film is all about and the topic it provokes into sharp focus with the simple truth.

So sit back and enjoy and I'll see you next week,
Scene!

  A Look At:
I Leave Here

Picture

I Leave Here is MRfeatures first full-length feature. It would be more acurate to say that the story that will soon mesmerize you is a product of the journey that was once that of Marie Roux.

Marie Roux, the co-writer, star, producer and owner of MRfeatures. Her life's journey as I have understood it, is a fasinating one of the very understated kind. She was born on the African Continent among the vast plains, in the land of Gabon of French parentage. She is a world traveller but bases her company and herself in the state of California, USA.

Her cpmpany has thus far produced two short films with her very dear friend as director, Nathalie Camidebach prior to this project. "Innocence Remains" and "Remember the Eyes", were both very well received in Films festivals around the world, but it is this film that has the potential to make the most impact.

I Leave Here is co-written by Roux and award-winning screenwritter Jennifer Deaton and Nathalie Camidebach is once again at the helm. Marie Roux  will star as one half the couple at the centre of the film. The second lead is yet to be cast.

Roux has based 'I Leave Here' on her own personal story and as it says on the official website, the story goes as follows;

"it is a thought-provoking and unique love story, following two remarkable women – Chloe is French, Emma is American – who build a life together in the States. That life is jeopardized when Chloe’s visa is denied.

Until the U.S. legislature passes 'The Uniting American Families Act' or gives gays some version of federal marriage rights, one of these women will be forced to make a profound sacrifice in order for them to be together – giving up family and career in order to be reunited.

I LEAVE HERE is not a political film, but a romance in which the lovers are driven apart by political forces. After the tremendous success of BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and MILK, it is time now for our story.

But our film’s reach also goes beyond this demographic in exploring universally relatable conceptions of home, duty, and destiny. Home is not only where the heart is but also where one’s calling lies. When equally sacred values are in conflict, how does one choose between them?"

Is your interest sufficiantly peaked? If so they need your help to bring it alive and on your screen, I will be placing the link to this very emotional and honest film's Kickerstarter account on next week's episode.
