Particularly, a young woman that doesn’t quite fit the accepted mold everyone has set out for her. Leanne Wright, eighteen and bisexual, has been propositioned more times than she wants to remember, but never by a woman. At least, not until Grace Burns, eighteen and wearing a rubber chicken as a hat does. Rubber chicken aside, Leanne can’t resist the opportunity to finally kiss a girl, especially a good looking girl. Her seventeen year old boyfriend, Matt Cote’s surprise announcement that he’s now with a local provincial league hockey team is both good and bad. Good: he’ll be close. Bad: he’ll be close. Matt’s brother Joshua Cote, eighteen, likes to hover. It’s like he’s everywhere, which works for Leanne when she needs help hauling four heavy suitcases up several flights of stairs. Not so much whenever Grace makes a play for her. Then there’s Grace’s nineteen year old over-protective gay BFF Ravi Patel. He’s not any competition for Grace’s affections, but his ability to sway her attentions away from Leanne may be another story. Friends for Leanne are in short supply and good friends even shorter, but a roommate like eighteen year old Amanda Sampson is truly one of a kind. Smart and sexy, she’s just the ‘let’s get into trouble’ influence Leanne needs in her life. Broke, Leanne desperately needs a job. Her fully funded Wawa town scholarship to McMaster University for the eight years it’ll take to become a doctor doesn’t cover incidentals or her mother’s rent. It also comes with a catch: if Leanne fails or drops out, the loan becomes payable immediately. No pressure.
