Week 1 - Passion and Purpose
You’re stepping out of the most exquisite limousine in Los Angeles onto the 2011 Grammy Awards red carpet, as you’re met by hundreds of fans and photographers, throwing themselves against the barricades that outline the walkway of glitz and glamour. They are all trying to get a picture, an autograph, a simple hello, from YOU, the new pop sensation.
You have been nominated for “Best New Artist” and everyone’s talking about it. Without even trying, you have taken the hearts and attention of the world. You smile for the cameras as you walk the carpet, pausing occasionally to talk to some industry friends, give a few hugs, and shake a couple of hands. You then make your way inside the Staples Center to find your seat, but just before you step inside, nostalgia hits and you’re thinking about how truly incredible it is to be there and how much your life has changed in just a few short months.
Everyone starts somewhere.
On that note, welcome to PNT Tv and my column “Tales of an Inspired Musician.”
Music has become such a fundamental form of communication and expression. Behind the magical madness: the musicians. Being a musician is much more than being capable of learning to play an instrument or being vocally blessed. It requires PASSION & PURPOSE. Passion, to always love what you’re doing and to fuel your drive to continuously better yourself and the music you create. And purpose, to share your thoughts and feelings with anyone who listens, to create a connection that goes beyond both the verbal and physical.
What does that mean for this column? Everything!
All My Love,
Stalk Me (not literally, but you know)
